2.5 ⭐️ rounded up because god I love YA. This book is not groundbreaking by any means, and its protagonist is bland and unlikeable, but the universe is charming if unoriginal and, sue, me, I like a predictable YA fantasy romance. This was a fun audiobook to get me through doing work on a Saturday and I’ll probably read the rest of the series just for kicks and gigs
