This was sweet, a little spicy, had so much happiness between the couple instead of getting together on the last page, it had conflict without a third act breakup, found family, and a deaf side character with plenty of ASL use.

This was such a good book! The characters and story feel natural and the emotional beats don't feel forced. Often times traumatic or complicated backstories can feel contrived, but the author does a great job conveying the facts in an honest way that allows the depth of emotions to gradually be revealed through her storytelling.

It's such a heartwarming story about healing and finding your place in the world. I stayed up all night reading it even when it had me sobbing at 3am.

I do believe this was better deaf / signing representation than Chloe Liesle’s book. I also thought the premise was unique albeit a little far fetched. I can only speak for me but at 24, I was barely able to take care of myself much less a child so it felt like Chloe was not put in a position to allow herself to even choose.  But the romance between Chloe & Warren lowkey gave me whiplash. One minute he is grumbling & doesn’t like her, then
fast forward to 80% and they are having sex/ saying I love you?
Eh, too fast & not developed enough for me personally.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

I have nothing to say other then i feel like there were to many time jumps so 1- you loose track of the time and don’t realize how much time has passed ( i think it’s like 5 or 6  months but it could very well be like 2 or 3) and 2- we don’t really see Chloe and Warrens relationship grow come together so when they tell eachother they love eachother i was like “damn wow okay that was quick” no it wasn’t theyve known eachother for months, i believe that they would love eachother but i didn’t really get to see the relationship forming because of the time jumps.
