I did not fly through this book as fast as the previous three. The frequent sexual encounters were just not my cup of tea. It looks like the firm plot lines are finally established and the rest of the series will be to sort out these lines. Bottom line pace was slower than the other books of this series so far. There are clear indicators of what has to happen in the remaining books. Still a very satisfying read.

Why would the Twisted Sisters give us this emotionally draining Rollercoaster? It's like dangling a HEA in front of me and then YANKING it away forcefully. 😩

You could literally feel the agony Tory is feeling as she is battling things going on around her. I had aches in my chest reading it and empathized with her for facing her demons alone.

Blue Lance Stan here. I will actually riot inside my body if this does not end HEA....

I have a feeling we will be seeing a devolution of Calen in the next books...something about the hunt is making me wonder 🤔

The Shimmering Springs. The throne room. iykyk 🔥🥵🌶

The last 50 pages solidified this 5⭐️ for me.

well this was crazy... dare i say it it's getting good! just love how easy these books are to read after work, they are pure entertainment but also starting to get a bit gut wrenching, the next ones going to hurt i fear

seth to me is the absolute worst and he cannot be redeemed i said what i said.

Sitting here devastated by that ending. I feel like a lot of this book is predictable but then the authors do things at the end that really throw me that have me reaching for the next one in the series. There are characters I love and there are characters I hate, and then there are still characters I really haven’t made my mind up about yet. Overall the book was good and I’m really enjoying this series.

The overly descriptive writing is starting to wear on me—I find myself skimming paragraphs, which I guess is more about the writing style than the actual story. That said, the plot in this book felt a bit repetitive, with the Heirs still tormenting the Vega twins. However, I did enjoy the deeper focus on the shadows and how the twins are trying to control this fifth element.

I’m loving Geraldine and Max—their bickering is hilarious. As for Darcy and Orion, I’ve never been the biggest fan of forbidden romance, so while I don’t dislike them, I’m not as invested.

That said, with Orion’s sister Clara revealed as the Shadow Princess, I suspect she’ll have a much bigger role in the next book.

The Christmas scene was a nice break, showing that the twins and the Heirs can actually get along. I also hope we see more of Xavier in the coming books.

But let’s be honest—the real reason I’m still here is Tory and Darius. Finally, we got some intense, steamy moments between them…

only for my heart to break when they became Star-Crossed in the final chapters. I need to see how this plays out because rejecting the Elysian bond doesn’t exactly seem like a minor inconvenience.

I just hope the next book gives us some hope for them and forces these Fae to work together.

Communication is definitely an issue at times, but then again, what do you expect from a bunch of teenagers?
