Interessante e strano viaggio nell'economia dell'arte contemporanea: da ex studentessa di economia dell'arte è stato un viaggio ricco di aneddoti e piccole verità. Non credo sia utilizzabile come manuale, ma lo consiglio a chiunque voglia farsi un'idea di questo strambo mercato, anche se non ci capirà troppo (penso che neanche gli esperti abbiano certezze!).

This book was so interesting. It was fascinating to learn about the ins and outs of the economics of the art world. I'm not an economist by any means, but this was accessible and understandable without being too dense.

Es un libro interesante para entender cómo se genera el valor económico del arte contemporáneo. En el pasado era todo acerca de cumplir los principios fundamentales del arte, pero en estos tiempos se trata más de algo social que no es tan fácil de medir. ¿Cómo evaluarías una obra de Yahoo Kusama que causó tantas personas haciendo fila para tomarse un selfie y publicarla en sus redes sociales? Mucho tiene que ver con el deseo de reafirmarnos a nosotros mismos como personas cultas e inteligentes.

Have you ever gone to a modern art museum and thought most of the art is crap? This book explains why people pay outrageous prices for it...like $100 mil or more...
I was really interested for the first half but the last part becomes so technical that it bored me. I'm glad I read it because it's a cool subject and the author really knows his stuff!

Interesting book. Can be a little hard to follow exactly how the economics works in the text at times(I understand terms like consignment and guarantee, but it's a bit awkward to track sometimes), but I definitely got a good grasp of things.
I'm still a little uncertain on how even rich people justify spending so much on artworks, but the book does a good job of showing the marketing and phycological landscape that shapes the art world.
