Had a wonderful time immersing myself in the world of the Dykes to Watch Out For and their comrades.
Didn't super connect with the characters, but I love Alison Bechdel and can't wait to read her new book, Spent! Apparently it features some characters from Dykes to Watch Out For!
Significantly harder to read than I imagined it would be - it is meant to be read contemporarily so keeping track of where in history we were (especially the parts before I was born!) was tough. It was fun though! You really feel it improving at landing comedy beats and having a consistent story throughout.
Amazing to watch these characters mature in beautifully woven strips , makes me especially grateful for my dyke house <3
