One of my favorites of the series so far.

This one was a bit more Agatha Christie than the previous ones (which made me enjoy it more).

Agatha Raisin and the Terrible Tourist by M.C. Beaton

Blurb

Cold-blooded murder heats up Agatha's summer holiday! Agatha travels to Cyprus, only to contend with her estranged fiance, an egregious group of truly terrible tourists, and a string of murders...In this sixth entertaining outing Agatha leaves the sleepy Cotswold village of Carsely to pursue love - and finds a murderer. Spurned at the altar, she follows her fleeing fiance James Lacey to Cyprus, where, instead of enjoying the honeymoon they'd planned, they witness the killing of an obnoxious tourist in a disco. Intrigue and a string of murders surround the unlikely couple, in a plot as scorching as the Cypriot sun!

My Opinion

Murder seems to follow Agatha Raisin, she has followed James Lacey to Cyprus and whilst she away she feels like she should put her detective skills to the test after she is found at the scene of a crime. Whilst this is a great series, it was nice to read about Agatha whilst she is in a different setting. I am listening to this series as audiobooks and they make for a nice, cosy afternoon read.

Rating 4/5

This is SO ME! Oh you think you are going on OUR honeymoon after you left me at the alter and have a good time? NOT ON YOUR LIFE JAMES! That being said, not my favorite Agatha Adventure. I always prefer Carsley centered stories the best! Still some great petty Aggie moments though!

read this cozy mystery to get out of a reading slump. flimsy plot + agatha’s incessant pining after a man with the emotional intelligence of a potato gained 2 stars. extra star for the beautiful descriptions of Cyprus and Turkish Cypriot culture

Once again, good mystery, too much James Lacey.

The entire time I was reading this book, all I could hear was Ross from Friends yelling, "We were on a break!"

Agatha travels abroad and finds her way into the midst of another murder. It was nice to see the havoc follow her away from home. How many murders can you have in a tiny village anyway?

I was a bit hit-and-miss on figuring this one out. Still enjoyable, and the ending definitely made me want to continue on.

3 out of 5 stars.
