Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for providing me with an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This story is the third installment in the Avalon Bay series and it did not disappoint! I thoroughly enjoyed the chemistry and banter between Cassie and Tate and the dual POV flowed effortlessly. This book captured so many elements that I crave in a great read, and although I did not care for the conflict near the end - I did enjoy that it was resolved rather quickly.

What really worked for me was the realistic aspects of divorce, betrayal, and how families move on and heal (or don’t) when they break. The relationship and feelings involved between parents, step-parents, and children who came before and after was really appreciated.

What didn’t work as well for me was that I had to keep reminding myself that we were dealing with people in their early twenties. The writing had a very high school vibe to me, but it wasn’t enough to bring down my star rating.

Overall, I’d definitely recommend. It’s a fun, quick read with great banter and some spice.

Elle Kennedy succeeds again in writing an amazing college summer romance. The FMC overcomes so much throughout the book and learns to be truly strong and herself. The MMC learns love and emotion.

Both main characters take us on a wild ride of their “summer fling”, a lot can happen in three months. Read this if you’re looking for amazing summer vibes and tension.

“Take what you need,” I say softly. I gaze up at her, completely at her mercy. “Every part of me is yours.”

Let’s ignore the fact that I read a summer book in winter. I’m just weird like that.

This was so much better than the first two books! I gave up on this series after book two, but I’d always wanted to read Tate’s story because he was portrayed as a playboy/manwhore in the previous books. I just wanted his POV to understand him better.

At first, I thought this would be about Tate and his new hookup girl, Alana. And I knew if that happened, it meant Wyatt was going to be there, which meant the worst love triangle ever—and I hate those with a burning passion. But the story was about Cassie, a new girl in Avalon Bay. She was there to find herself a summer fling, and trust me when I say I hated the plot when I first found out about it. But it gets interesting as the story goes on.

Tate Bartlett, the famous surfer boy and playboy of Avalon Bay. Everyone said he was a player, just a hookup guy who would never fall in love with any girl. But this man is so sweet, kind, and wise beyond his years. He even cried when Cassie told him about her dysfunctional relationship with her mum—and you’re telling me everyone in Avalon Bay thinks he’s a red flag? He’s the only green flag in this damn series. I love how much he cares for his family, especially his mum. I just love guys who have a loving yet emotional connection with their mums. Like Cassie said, and I quote: “
