This might be my favorite in the Avalon Bay series. I absolutely loved Tate and Cassy. I'm so glad that Elle Kennedy continues with the dual POV, it really is my favorite. The book is sweet, lighthearted, and just a relaxing story. Cassy is staying with her grandmother for the summer and she is looking for a summer fling. After an awkward meeting at a party and a budding friendship begins, Tate eventually agrees to be Cassy's summer fling and they become so much more. They really do start becoming good friends and caring about each other. Tate encourages Cassy to be open and honest about her feelings but wasn't pushy or demanding about it. I really just can't get over how cute the two for them are together. Overall, a great summer read.

This is such a great summer read; it fulfilled my expectations of its super cute cover + title, and it being a continuation of the Avalon Bay series. Loved Cassie and Tate so much!!

I'm not usually the biggest fan of romances that start from flings, just because of how often it's seen in real life (with all of what seems to be this generations 'situationships'). Fortunately for me, this book actually made it work, and the characters had enough depth and chemistry that I was rooting for them the entire time.

The other plotlines in the story really got to me as well, and I actually teared up near the end. So while it was a fun and lighthearted book, it also pulled at the heart strings.

With everything going on, it was somewhat of a stretched out read. It wasn't as "short and sweet" as Bad Girl Reputation for example, but still had the spice and tension I expected from Elle Kennedy:) This was a fun read, with really lovable characters.

The Summer Girl releases tomorrow so happy release day, and thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the eARC!

I had previously read the first book in this series and just wasn't in love with it, however, this book renewed my interest in the series and I may have to go back and read the second book! It did take me a bit to get into this book because I tend to struggle when the MCs are so young (our FMC is only 20) but she had maturity and intrigue and her story arc kept me invested. Also, as a note: I'll listen to almost anything Teddy Hamilton narrates and I enjoyed Caitlin Elizabeth as well!

Very insta lust but it is a book about a summer fling so I guess that’s to be expected!

Thank you NetGalley & Elle Kennedy for access to an arc copy in exchange for an honest review!

First of all, I am so so happy that I was able to read this book ahead of time. I’ve been reading this whole series and I was really excited for this book! I really enjoyed getting a little peak into how the previous relationships were going.

Cassie is someone who I related to throughout this novel. She has a lot of family issues surrounding her mother, her parents being divorced and her grandma on her mother’s side being almost a bestfriend to her. Describes my situation to an absolute T right now and that helped me connect to her. It was cool to meet the grandma who sold the hotel and get more background into her.

Tate is your typical player, who surprisingly is super honest from the beginning and doesn’t break any hearts? He has really good banter, not many family issues, and a huge passion for sailing. He seems pretty perfect- couldn’t connect to him as much.

Together they seem like a really cute couple- Cassie just wants a fling to lose her virginity and it’s a cat and mouse game between them for a while. Once they get into it, they’re pretty good together!

The smut scenes are as good as Elle Kennedy does- I always love a book by her. Will there be another addition to this series?

It has been years since Cassie Soul has spent an entire summer in her hometown of Avalon Bay. After moving to Boston with her mother after her parent's divorce, her trips back to the bay were short and sweet. But now her grandmother has sold the family hotel, and is planning to move north as well. Cassie decides to spend her grandma's last summer in the bay with her. Mrs. Tanner (Cassie's grandma) wants Cassie to have a great summer. She introduces Cassie to McKenzie Cabot, the young lady who bought her hotel, in hopes that Cassie will have a friend group to spend the summer with. Enter Tate Bartlett. The fun loving, never serious, sailing instructor is exactly what Cassie is looking for in a summer fling. Bonus: He is spending the summer house sitting the house next door to her grandmas. But does he want what she has to offer?

I was skeptical going into this book, I loved the first two Avalon Bay books so much, and I was afraid that had so much to do with Hartley Twins. Their friend Tate did not disappoint. He was charming, sincere and so funny. I was also skeptical because I was not sure how Cassie was going to fit in with the previous stores, but she was immersed into the Avalon Bay Group so seamlessly.

Cassie and Tate together were both hilarious and spicy. I love a book with good banter between the MC's, and this book was jam packed with it. It also helped that their attraction to each other was electric.

Another five star read! Thank you to NetGalley and St Martin's Griffin for the digital ARC. It was so exciting to be able to read this book before it was released.
