This was actually my first Avalon Bay book, but not my first Elle Kennedy book and she didn't disappoint with this. I'm definitely going to be going back and buying the first two immediately.
I'm not a summer/beach kind of girl and at all. I love winter and snow far too much, but this definitely made me want to go hit the beach this summer.
I loved Cassie so much. I relate to her in so many ways.
This book was so easy to fall into this story. Good fun and good spice!
Huge thanks to St Martins Press and NetGalley for the ARC!

Best of the series (I really hope she writes more, I need a book on Alana!) I loved Tate of course, but Cassie's reconnecting with her dad's family was the best part. Her conversation with Nia near the end had me in tears. This book had the right balance of personal/family drama and romance.
Fun beach read
A fun summer romance read. It's not as spicy as other Elle Kennedy books, but I actually appreciated that. It didn't need the extra smut. I loved Tate and he is my absolute favorite Avalon Bay boyfriend.
I had a hard time getting into this one. I can usually devour any Elle Kennedy book, but this one was missing something. The conflict, the chase? A good twist at the end that I honestly didn't see coming, but was resolved within a chapter. I liked it, but I didn't love it. The Briar U books are superior in my opinion.

I was not in love with the first two books in this series- they were fine enough that I figured I’d read this one. There were some cute parts, but overall there was so much cringe. The end went a bit off the rails, and why was it necessary to make him a smoker? Gross.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I haven’t read any of the other books in the Avalon Bay series, but I feel like you can read this as a stand-alone no problem.
The characters are quite likeable and I enjoyed reading about this cute little town called Avalon Bay. I also really enjoyed the relationships and banter with the characters.
****SPOILERS BEGIN****
Tate’s interactions with Cassie’s little sisters just warms my heart and the fact he gets along with everyone and everyone likes him makes this book that much more enjoyable.
The whole relationship with Tate and Cassie was also so cute and it just melted my heart at some points.
****SPOILERS END****
I really liked this book and I know I’ll be reading more Elle Kennedy books in the future. It had the right amount of spice, drama and cute romance-y stuff.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s publishing for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love a good summer beach romance with realistic family issues thrown in. This would have gotten a five star rating if the sexual language hadn't been so vulgar. Personal preference.
