This was just a good read. I think many people can identify with Sophie's need to control based on the circumstances she was thrust in as a teenager. Also the fear of abandonment I'm sure will resonate with anyone who has dealt with divorce or death. I would have loved to visit the bookshop and I LOVED seeing the Quinn's show up in this book! :)

Stopped @ 40%. I just couldn't connect with the main characters and their story.
I have enjoyed many of this authors books; this one just wasn't for me. Her Bluebell Inn series is one of my favorites.

A cute, light read. The concept was fun, just not my style of book.

Another cute novel by Denise Hunter! I have read most of Hunter’s novels and love the sweet, predictable romances. It creates a warm, comfy vibe in my heart like a Hallmark movie in a book. The feelings are believable and the characters easy to find likable. I also loved the setting in this book (despite the hurricane- yikes!). If anyone enjoyed past Denise Hunter books, this one is another win.

I am incredibly pissed. I read this book because of all the hype on Bookstagram and booktok, but somehow I missed the fact that this was a heavily Christian related book. In the beginning and middle there was small red flags that I brushed off and dealt with thinking ok, obviously the writer is Christian but they’re not completely shoving it my face so ok, moving on. But the entire ending of the book was just a huge sermon and it was absolutely unnecessary to the story and completely ridiculous. This book could have gotten maybe even 4 stars from me if it wasn’t for the sermon at the end. I hate books that shove religious idealism down your throat. Maybe it’s unfair because that’s a huge trigger for me, but it is for a lot of people so I don’t care. Literally this entire story could have been a sweet romance with hints of their religion and I probably wouldn’t have cared, but to force me to read through a huge ass sermon that spanned probably the last third of the book to find out what happened at the end was completely uncalled for. If you’re Christian, great! You do you. But I hate it being shoved down my throat. My fault for not checking, but this was definitely a Bookstagram made me and I got burned hard. So if you’re like me and hate religion being shoved down your throat, this is not the book for you. Honestly I’m surprised I didn’t just dnf it. I’d probably would be less pissed if I had. The ending at the end wasn’t even worth the trouble of getting there.
