Commitment, strength, perseverance. Des Linden is an impressive human being with strong convictions and massive drive. A well-written memoir that runners and non-runners will appreciate.

3. 5 stars And don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed this book. Even though I knew the outcome already, I was still on the edge of my seat. I couldn't get enough. She really set the stage for the Boston Marathon 2018 run. And I loved all the backstory, story I didn't really know.

The writing was okay and enough to move through the story. However, she should have learned transitions. It would just go from point A to point F and back to point B in like two paragraphs. It was sometimes difficult to follow. The main chapters were very long with a lot of information, some information I didn't feel like matched the chapter name. And the Boston Marathon chapters would be really short. I feel like with some better organization, I would have loved it even more. I will say I did like how it was divided by one chapter of backstory and the next chapter was a section of that infamous Boston Marathon run.

I do recommend it, epecially if you want to read a comeback story and you love running.
