An absolute romp.  Truly delightful.

Loved every minute of this. Many laugh-out-loud moments. This is the second in the Oxford Time Travel series, but is nothing at all like the first: The Domesday Book. That book is a tragedy; this is comedy all the way. Starting the third in the series right now.

jolly good fun, a lovely time

I'm inclined to think that all of the sub 4- or 5-star ratings here were from readers who have little-to-no Sci-Fi literacy (to say nothing of time travel). There can be no other reason. Seriously, folks, try again.

In my opinion, this is the first book that I have read in a long time (or ever?) that touches -- and even matches -- the clever witticisms of [a:Terry Pratchett|1654|Terry Pratchett|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1235562205p2/1654.jpg]'s Discworld series. I was enthralled throughout everything page, I laughed out loud aplenty, and I was thoroughly pleased with the "mystery solved."
