The first half was a bit slow and slightly reminiscent of Terry Pratchett. It picked up in the second half. Definitely more humorous than the first book in the series.

The representation of women was just too cringy for me to keep going. My hope that because it was written by a woman it would eventually improve prevented me from putting it down sooner.

Look, I'll be honest and admit that I'm not sure I really understand all the time travel bits, but this was a fun romp.

My favorite book of all time. It has time travel, humor, romance, mystery, and a dog, of course. Also, a mischievous cat and atrocious Victorian furniture!

Loved it! Give me any novel set in Oxford and I’m happy.
This book did not have the same emotional drive as the first novel but it made up for it in humour and lightheartedness. I was pleasantly surprised seeing some reoccurring characters from the first book. It was a really enjoyable read and I love Connie Willis’ style so much.

Can most definitely be enjoyed without having read Three Men in a Boat.

This book is a funny, witty, historical rom-com. My only wish is that I had read Three Men in a Boat as it is often referenced. Highly recommend!
