Reread. I love this book. Every time I read this book I get angry about the years between its publication and the first time I read it. Approx. 7 years of bitterness! WHAT A FOOL. If only I had a time machine; I would go back and spend 7 years reading this book every day.

Slow start and drawn out end. Connie Willis is the master of the slow build with huge payoff, but this could have been shorter. The middle section was very captivating though. And I know I’d have enjoyed the start better had I read “Three Men in a Boat.”

Doomsday and Black Out / All Clear I loved. Glad I read this one but it didn’t connect as much.
