The metaphor is very heavy-handed and poorly written at times, but the message is good.
A lot of great principles to walk away with and it gives you a lot of great perspective. The writing style was not my favorite and at times came across a bit cheesy, but I appreciated everything that I can now walk away with and apply.

I'm so glad that StoryGraph allows me to rate books 0 stars because this is genuinely the worst book that I've ever read.
The fact that I have to read it for my high school careers class already made me hate the book, but if I had picked this book up at a store, which I wouldn't, I would've immediately put it back down.
The book is poorly written, and you can call me an "energy vampire" for being negative about this book, but I suggest that Jon Gordon finds a career other than writing. These books contribute nothing to society, and they're definitely marketed towards adults that read at a 3rd grade reading level.
I was writing stories better than this when I was in 2nd grade.
I also really hate the random plugs and stats that are just thrown into the book. At one point a character begins promoting some random energy bus website, and at another point some character takes it upon himself to yell out some statistics. If the author wanted to include a website plug or some statistics, this could've happened at the end.
Overall, I would only recommend this book to my worst enemies, but even then I don't know that I'd want to torture them that much. This book is so mind-numbingly static and boring.
