Book two of the Sookie Stackhouse series finds Sookie lent out to a Dallas nest to listen in for enemies. She does a good job, almost dies a couple of times, and meets another telepath.
The first time reading the series I didn't think much about the idea that Sookie might only have been in love with Bill because he was the first guy she met whose mind she couldn't read. On this read, I thought he was kind of a too. Eric, too, though.
Definitely a good read when you can't concentrate on books because the world is terrible.

Wish that such as in the tv series, there was more focus on Sam, and on the Maenad; those parts felt a bit rushed. Maybe too much focus on the Church storyline. Great book though.

Charlaine Harris does it again with this fun novel following the adventures of Sookie Stackhouse and her very interesting vampire/lover/boyfriend Bill. I've got to say, Charlaine Harris does not disappoint. Although I did think the first book was better than this one, I wasn't disappointed at all. So much so that I had to run out and get the third book after promising myself I wasn't going to spend anymore money. I am hoping that this series continues to be on my good list.

I suppose it was a little better than the first one, but the characters just don't match the ones in my head after watching season one of the series on TV. I think I prefer TV Sookie to the one in the novel! Maybe my opinion will change after watching season two. Anyway, a quick little read, with the expected dose of sex, violence, vampires, etc. :)
