4/10 I’ve recently begun with the dream cycle of Lovecraft, skipping all of the major works in favor of focusing on the short stories, which means that this story doesn’t provoke any special feelings or thoughts. This is lore-building at its finest. If you’re into the dream cycle and want to know more this is a great short story. If not, maybe skip this one.

I’m told that if i like this one i should read dunsany? It seems like lovecraft’s “dunsany tales” are my favorites, so if you’re looking to get me something for christmas, consider the king of elfland’s daughter by lord dunsany

Another Lovecraft tale as the quest continues.
This one had some good moments, overall though it was another tale.
It didn't feel as lyrical as some of the others in the Dream cycle however.

When it comes to cosmic horror Lovecraft is a wonderful writer. This story is too short to be one of his best, but it’s good. Mystical and creepy.
