Oh my fucking god! This book was EPIC from start to finish omg.
This book had me getting emotional a lot. Rafe in particular. Ugh! This man has my whole heart! He’s now my favourite! I absolutely LOVED him. His realisation that he loves and wants to raise little Isla were just some of most tender and beautiful moments. Had me bawling my eyes out.
I also loved the romance between Jackson and Jane. I really liked Jane in book 2 so it was nice to see her have a happy ending.
Dayum Brodie and Lydia’s sex scenes were hot af. Wowsers. I loved their story and adventures. Honestly just the 4 of them (Brodie, Lydia, Rafe, and Isla) were some of my favourite moments.
Can we talk about how much I hate Portia. She’s just THE worst.
Can we now talk about the bromance between Ash and Broch? I am HERE for that! Fuck that moment where Ash said “more like what’s gotten into THEM” had me dying of laughter. Prob one of the funniest scenes in the series.
Omg and Aidan is just suuuuuuuch a sweetie. I love him to bits! I cannot wait for his book!
I am super excited for Rafe’s book also.
I was feeling a little apprehensive when I started reading the books that were written after the main story arc ended but man I’m still hooked and dying to know what happens next!

The plot was a bit crazy and close to ridiculous as they often is in historical fiction but there was a nice balance of good characters, sweet love and some neutral moments as well. That made this book a fun and enjoyable read.

Never Tempt a Scot, by Lauren Smith is a smashing good story. Oh the way Lauren told this story is every woman’s romantic dream. I found this story easy to read. It was fast pace with, excitement, romance, passion and adventure. Lauren was able to capture my attention with this story to the end.
With each flip of the page, Lauren’s writing played out the details of each scene with clarity, that pulled on my imagination. Lauren held on to the excitement of the story by weaving interesting background stories of other characters into the book. This brought high drama to the book. Adding humor and comical, sarcastic comments to the story also helped the book move with quick pace. The introduction of other characters and their dilemmas didn’t effect the love story of Brodie and Lydia.
Those antidotes enhance the story more. This had me excited to see what was to happen on the next page. Each character read as a strong, fierce person, who has compassion and an open heart. For the readers, this book has a little of everything. The sneaky conniving baby sister, Portia.
Someone should have placed her over their lap and whipped her tail. She really needs it. Poor Brodi and Lydia got caught up into a scandal that they had no clue of what was happening. Their adventure takes flight with Brodie’s roguish friend Rafe, who seems careless and indifferent on the outside, but on the inside he as a warm protective heart. Brodie and his Scottish ways, tries bending Lydia to his ways as punishment and revenge towards Lydias father.
Along this journey to Scotland, Lydia’s defiance, strong will and determination to return home, turns the table on Brodie. He then succumbs to her desires. Brodie’s and Lydia share wild passionate tryst on this adventure is steamy, yet sweet. I recommend this book with two snaps and a twist. Until next time my fellow readers... read on. I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.

This was an interesting one. Definitely had some moments of don't think too hard about the plot. I have very strong feelings about minor parts of the story, but they come across very loud in the review. As for the rest of the story my feelings are more mild. I liked it and would read more in the series.

Overall, I do not like Mr. Hunt. I do not like how his ending happened in this book. I'd say it serves him right to be miserable. There's a bit where they try to make it like all he does is care about his daughters and gives no time to himself. Dude gives plenty of time to business and moving around. He gives plenty of time of having his older daughter having to rein in his younger daughter. Only for a moment do we see that he's like Lydia, go have fun, but she can't because she knows he can't handle Portia.

I don't like Portia either. There's a hint of a change, but I guess if she ever gets her own book (and hopefully not with Rafe), we'll see that change better. Just because this story had all's well that ends well ending, doesn't mean she shouldn't be punished. Her punishment was being sent to Brighton?! Like come on. She tried to ruin a man's life.

Let's move on to more pleasant things. I mostly liked Lydia. She really had that damsel in distress thing going on. To be kidnapped
3
times on one journey is rather a lot. I liked her friendship with Lysandra. She kept calm in a crisis, which she seemed to have many of. I didn't quite believe when she had the thought that she was falling in love with him, because my first thought was why? He hasn't shown that he's that nice yet. She gets a wound, that I imagine would be felt later on but is rarely mentioned again. Same for her lady's maid after a certain point. I hope Fanny is doing well.

Brodie was whatever. I liked part of his interactions with Lydia when it was talking about books, traveling, Scotland, or even when he was teaching her how to punch. His being turned on by her purity was a bit skeevy for me, and maybe that wasn't what it was verbatim, but that's what I've interpreted it as.

Rafe! Now that's a character I liked. He's a cad and he knows it. He's decided to try and be a hedonist, but he does have a heart and only stole from those who could afford it. He's a good friend.

This is my first book in this series, so while the author does give you the who's who of everybody mentioned in the previous books, I was still confused and didn't really care too much about them, mostly because they were such non-entities in the story. I am possibly tempted to go back and read some of their stories. I am definitely interested in reading Aiden's story!

Again, I liked the story but there was a lot that happened that didn't need to.
