Good As Dead is a fast-paced thriller exploring a deadly hit-and-run and its spiraling cover-up. Holly, the surviving victim, is pressured into silence by the driver's ruthless fixer, Evan, putting her and her daughter in jeopardy.
Multiple perspectives (Evan, Holly, her daughter, concerned neighbors, and a mysterious stranger) keep the story moving, but can dilute character development. While I didn't connect deeply with any character, their viewpoints were entertaining.
Frequent flashbacks (every chapter starts with one) disrupt the flow. Short chapters, however, ensure a quick read.
The intriguing premise is overshadowed by the sheer number of characters and a plot that loses focus. The "armchair detective" solving the case felt unrealistic.

Narration was great.
Loved the multiple POVs.
That’s about all that was good with this.
I saw everything coming. The characters were also boring.
Also, I hate rich people and felt no sympathy whatsoever for Jack or his son.
Also the epilogue was unnecessary. And relationship at the end was ridiculous and unbelievable.
Honestly, idk why I finished hahah. Prob cause it was audiobook that I spent a credit on.

I would not recommend this book to anyone. The religious interjections were strange and unnecessary. No grown man says "I don't believe in God, but if I did, I would definitely be going to hell." Just weird.

DNF I got this for cheap on the kindle store and glad I didn’t pay more than $1 for it. I’m glad I only used kindle points and didn’t fork over more money. This is trash. And tried to get into it twice. I really couldn’t keep track of the timelines and characters. These are the type of shitty books that make me want to stop reading books all together.
Stop with unnecessary point of view changes. Authors gotta actually work on their craft and stop having publishers greenlit this slush.

Loved the story, hated the writing style. Too many points of view and flashbacks and flash forwards to keep up with.. hard to get through but good resolution.

This is one of those thrillers where you know the most important details very early on. You know that a rich guy covered up a hit-and-run death, and you even know who he is. The rest of the book mostly concerns itself with whether he gets caught.
Personally, I like a little more mystery in a book like this. I don’t like to know more than the characters (some of them, anyway) about what’s going on. I’m not very invested in whether a character figures out what I already know. When you take out that little core of mystery, I just don’t find the result very compelling.
There are a couple of other twists in store, but they are mostly details that don’t change the overall shape of the crime.
The book itself is well-written, and I’ll be interested to read her books in the future.
