Probably my favorite of the series. The chapters exploring the background of Tom Riddle are worthy of their own film.
2017 Review:
The best Harry Potter book by far! It has so much humor which is a welcomed relief after the emotional frustration and fatigue of book 5. The best character in the series is Dumbledore and this book has the most of him by a long shot. Voldemort becomes a more intriguing villain after his depths are explored through the memories that Dumbledore has collected. Meanwhile, all of the regular themes of the series are continued whether it be the treatment of muggles, house elves, or werewolves.

HBP is my favorite of the Harry Potter books, but this was my first time reading any of them in Spanish! The audiobook narrator initially irritated me with her lisp (I learned Spanish in Chile, not Spain) but it wore on me less after I got used to it. I had fun learning new words like “barita” (wand) and “guardapelo” (locket, but literally means saves hair). I’ll probably cycle through listening to the rest of the Spanish series when I’m short on audiobooks.
This is my fave among all of them. The darkest secrets were revealed, history of Voldemort was well explained. It was just amazing
