of course the ending of this book causes so much anxiety with Chaol, Dorian, and the fact that she wants to go help them when she DOESNT EVEN KNOW what’s she’s about to walk into. I’m also rooting for her and Rowan. Rooting for Manon to become someone who feels and is a good person

8/30/2023: I wanted to give it a few weeks to sort my thoughts. Here we go, starting with one I know is a hot take and will piss many off, but it must be said
1. I don’t like Rowan. I mean I DO because he’s hot (he’s giving Gerald from The Witcher) but like if my friend was dating someone who talked to them the way rowan talked to my girl, I’d literally be telling her to GTFO. Red flags EVERYWHERE. Mean as FUCKKK, doesn’t ever apologize,m or even acknowledge the horrible things he said to her. But aelin is too depressed at the time to even fight back or stand up for herself. we’re expected to let it go cause he’s hot and this is the ship we’re getting fed. Am I looking forward to smut scenes with Rowan? Yes. (Because he’s undeniably hot af) I still do not like him as a person and think him and Aelin are lowkey toxic to each other. And I’m pretty sure this is gonna be endgame for Aelin, so whatever. Maybe my opinion will change, but like??? Why is nobody talking about how insanely cruel he was to her in that one scene?
2. Chaol remains to be the worlds most Uninteresting Man and I literally just don’t care about him at all. I do appreciate his friendship with dorian tho and liked seeing it grow.
3. Dorian tho. As always. My sweet angel mouse boy. I would die for him.Such amazing character development and my heart breaks for him. THAT ENDING THOOO IM SO EXCITED AND SCARED FOR HIM????!
4. Manon is so interesting and I loved reading her sections. The wyvern bits were SO GOOD and tugged on my sensy heart. Abraxos
