I’m so sad it ended, i loved the writing style & the very much gory details. I still can’t accept the ending, it wasn’t bad, i was just lowkey rooting for something else.
but anyway, i totally recommend this book to anyone. i’ll probably bug my friends to read it.

Parts of this were quite good but it didn't overwhelm me. I wanted more of a creep factor.

Trigger warnings! Animal abuse, death, cruelty, on top of human body horror. I may be wrong, but I don't think I read any trigger warnings for this book. This was my first Nick Cutter book and I will read more, and will be more wary next time. Animal death and cruelty aren't triggers for me, but I'd like to be warned about it.

Trigger warnings for this book for violence against animals, body horror, and parasites.

Be advised, this book is not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach. But if you can hang on, it's well worth it

Never in my life has a book so terrified and fascinated me at the same time. I almost simultaneously couldn't put it down AND had to take breaks from the horrors squirming across the pages. It made me sick to my stomach at times, but in the end I wept for the boys. For all they had seen and been through, and for all they had lost.

I really enjoyed this creepy story about a "boy scout" troop that gets trapped on an island and then absolute chaos ensues. I may be nuts, but I wanted MORE fear. The story is definitely creepy and I really enjoyed it. It made me think how possible things like this are and that is what is so haunting.

Fucking disgusting, interesting in thee way it uses interviews and court hearings throughout for foreshadowing and background info.
