Wtf… read part 1 loved it, read part 2 found it boring, read part 3 and my jaw was on the floor the whole time. I’m at a loss for words right now, I can’t give it less than 5 stars when part 3 was so fucking good.
I have come to the realization that so far nothing in books disturbs me or grosses me out but this book did contain a lot of shit that probably could make people really nauseous. Keep that in mind if you want to read it. It contains animal abuse and body horror.

Justice for Newt!
Ehhhhhh........ What can I say I went into this book excited. I was expecting something COMPLETELY different and perhaps that's why I feel so disappointed. I thought it was gonna be one and thing and it was the complete other. I was thinking about reading The Deep but I might hold off on it for a while.
Trigger warning: animal cruelty. (I didnt appreciate it, I almost DNF'd it )

I appreciate how accurate the depiction was.
However, what the actual fuck was that.
If you choose to read it, don’t expect it to hold back.

Great book, couldn’t put it down once started, first nick cutter book will definitely read more
Rating 4.3* out of 5. I am not squeamish. There is a picture of me kissing a dead sheep from three days back. Actually there is more than one and not the same sheep either. One was a raw head, with dead blue eyes and grey-white wool. Made me think of a movie about zombie sheep. I picked up the head, which dribbled blood into a bucket, held it with one hand and using the other one put my fingers in its mouth - like when you force a horse to take the bit - to make it grin for a colleague's camera. So yeah, I'm fairly jaded when it comes to blood, gore and horror. So when I say this book really creeped me out, you should take notice.
This is the best horror novel I have read in years. I expected a run-of-the-mill story with cheap thrills and predictable storyline. I got something unexpected, thrilling and horrifyingly disgusting. The one thing I absolutely cannot take is cruelty to animals and there are a few scenes in this book on that which are absolutely revolting.
I can't really say much about this book without revealing spoilers. This books is best read without knowing what the boy scouts in troop 52 and their scout master encounter on their weekend away on an uninhabited island. Whatever you think it is, it isn't, and the unknown makes it all the worse. That the book has a decided "Lord of the Flies" theme about it makes a horrifying situation even worse. The characters are well-fleshed out - an unfortunate choice of words, but oh well - and I did root for some of them.
Read it at your own peril, I've had several nightmares about it already. No regrets though, it was definitely worth it. If you're into horror. All ye that are faint of heart should just move along to something else.
