Incredibly creepy and horrifying but impossible to put down. I have not read a book that forced me to take breaks due to the amount of suspense and fear it physically caused me.

Fans of Stephen King would love this unimaginable body horror of a book! I truly would like to read more works from this author but am slightly terrified at what else his mind can conjure up.

4.5/5

This is probably one of the only books lately to be able to freak me tf out. V good.

I might have nightmares due to how disturbing it was but the writing and story were fantastic.

Guys who has read this?! If you like horror look no further! The Troop by Nick Cutter is seriously disturbing. Set on a remote island, a group of scouts and their scout leader are spending a weekend doing activities when a stranger turns up on a boat...and he is desperately hungry. What follows is a easy to read yet completely gruesome tale - picture The Lord of the Flies but introduce a mysterious illness to the mix. I loved the characters, the origins of the illness we learn along the way, as well as the super creepy vibe and atmosphere. Warning though there is lots of body horror/graphic scenes and animal abuse so this book is not for the faint hearted!

Ew!

This book made me nauseous. In a good way

4/5.
I REALLY liked this book. It was a quick, unsettling read that I never wanted to put down. It only lost a star due to the number of times the goriness made me nauseous. :-P

I really enjoyed this book however due to the descriptive narrative, I found myself having to reread several times so I knocked it a star.

Read this if you really want to be creeped out!! I was intrigued by the author's use of a zombie-like description, but was drawn into a different and terrifying take and Cutter did not disappoint! This was a quick read as I couldn't stop- the vivid descriptions and fast pace left me hungry for more... see what I did there? If not... you soon will!

Definitely entertaining but not what I was expecting. There were 2-3 creepy parts but nothing that really knocked my socks off.
