Super cute romance that spoke to the importance of family. Daisy’s Indian family was all in each other's business while Liam’s family was struggling to connect after the death of his grandfather. As someone with a large extended family, I can feel Daisy’s complicated mix of love and frustration for her well-meaning but overbearing Aunties.

The romance was simple and the families were complicated. I love that Daisy was a nerdy girl starting to discover life outside of a computer screen. I appreciated that Daisy’s growing confidence was happening before Liam dropped back into her life. Yes, his presence was a confidence boost, but she was already heading in that direction.

As a last note, be prepared to be hungry while reading this book. Everyone is constantly eating freshly made Indian food which the author describes in exquisite detail.

Plot felt a bit disconnected and very fast. Loved the characters but not a fan of the fake marriage but they really do love each other and are lying about it trope.

4,75 stars for the fact that we didn’t get to see Liam use his sword (not a euphemism) and I guess because the Sanjay thing wasn’t as interesting as the book was making it out to be. But besides that I loved reading this book, I literally couldn’t put it down, and because it seemed more realistic then other books I’ve read like it. I liked the way Daisy’s family was shown and the way Liam felt accepted by them, also the Brendan and Liam call was one of the more realistic parts of the book to me. This definitely reminded me of Get a Life Chloe Brown but it was made so much better by the fact that they already knew each other and they hadn’t just met willy nilly. I loved reading this book so much that I’m probably going to end up buying it, so I can reread parts of it like I do with act your age Eve Brown and Heartstopper. Thanks to this book I realized my favorite trope in romcom books

2nd time reading: I still love this book and I’m still disappointed that there was no wedding in the book after all the wedding talk

This book fulfilled my dream as a young Indian American woman. I too want to bump into my white high school crush who once rejected me and have him fall in love with me after becoming confident and hot. What a dream.

Also to have a white man be invested in your culture, friggin' bonus.

The book was enjoyable. Again, you know what's gonna happen. But you enjoy the ride.

Also, smut.
