After enjoying the first book so much I was very excited to read this book. However, I did watch the Inkheart movie before reading this and got mad which made me even more excited for this book. I did think that the map and character list at the beginning of the book was a bit of a spoiler though...
Anyway, this book continued to elaborate on the awesome world and characters created by the first book. I enjoyed the plot line but could've done without the romance. The romance seemed a little over the top for the characters' ages. The ending also kind of made me grumpy, but eager to read the next book!

I think that this book not only lived up to my expectations but may even be better then inkheart. I can't wait til inkdeath!

The first one was better to me, though I like that Dustfinger was in this more and that it showed how Farid weaseled his way into his heart.
