Okay, well, my brain has blown up and all the pieces of it are fluttering about in the air and screaming in tiny little voices, "Oh, the awesomeness! The awesomenesssssss....."
I always go into a second book with a bit of trepidation, but I am happy to report that I am suitably impressed. Lots of action. Lots of tension. Lots of awesome. And you know, I could just go on and on and on telling you about HOW TOTALLY COOL it is and how much you NEEED NEEEEEEED NEEEEEEEEED to read it, but things are going to get spoilery here, so I'm going into stealth mode now.
I went into this book expecting some hot, angel on bad ass girl kisses and I got NONE. Not a single freaking kiss.
Now, the moment when Raffe FINALLY sees Ryn for the first time, OMG, I died. I totally did. My sister had to peel me off the floor and give me electroshock therapy, because I was out of my senses. And you know when she totally SHOULD have done it, when they wash up on the beach and they're like all wrapped up in each other, or when they're sitting in front of the fire. She did nothing. NOTHING.
I feel cheated in the smooching department, I really do. Tell me you agree, friends.
Other than that, this book kicked butt. That stuff with Paige was seriously awesome. I can't wait to find out what her other powers are.

I'm just going to address this right off, because I know you're all thinking about it, too. BUT WHAT THE HELL, SUSAN EE? WHERE ARE THE SMOOCHES?I went into this book expecting some hot, angel on bad ass girl kisses and I got NONE. Not a single freaking kiss.

A fast paced sequel, if a little bit repetitive. Not about the lack of Raffe for over half the book though!

I started reading this immediately I finished Angelfall. There are moments when the story held strong when Penryn reunited with her sister, but when she disappears again in book 2 I felt like I ricocheted to book 1.
Moderate: Body horror, Chronic illness, Death, Genocide, Gore, Panic attacks/disorders, Torture, Trafficking, Kidnapping, Medical trauma, Murder, Schizophrenia/Psychosis , War
this was a lot better the first book but again there is always so much going on!!
The battles are so short but there’s one after the next, it’s so chaotic.
There also doesn’t really seem to be a plot??
It’s just the main character running into situations she saves and tells herself she’s not a hero and just looking for her sister. And somehow ever character she meets is still alive. Those two twin boys somehow are always in the right place at the right time to save her or do her bidding. It’s a very convenient story.
3 stars because while there wasn’t anything I LOVED about it there wasn’t anything I hated. It was very basic.
