well, fuck.
i didn't mean to be swayed, i didn't mean to be pulled in especially after the 'little stunt' that Susan Ee pulled with the question of Penryn's race that disappointed a lot of people, but i ended up being completely enthralled by this. damn.

Nice book, expanded on the lore and was quick to read. The main couple did actually have chemistry, which was nice enough.
Josiah was mentioned once. Let's see if he returns in the end of days.

Not as good as the first one, but they rarely are. Still, the unpredictable plot kept me reading.
Penryn and Raffe are much better together than apart. The first half of the book was kind of slow, but still interesting. When P&R reunite, pacing picks up dramatically!

Muy bueno ... Lo leí lo más lento que pude no quería que se acabara ... Ya quiero leer la tercera parte ☺️
Oh World After, I had so much hope for you especially after how we left off in Angelfall. I had so much hope and unfortunately, World After, you just didn't live up to them.
Right from the beginning we pick off from where we left off which was really good, but overall I didn't find this second installment as action packed or exciting as the first one. Really, after a few chapters of Penryn, I kept pausing and wondering were Raffe was and wished that he would show up already which didn't happen for some time. Though Penryn is a great strong heroine, without Raffe for some reason both characters were just a little less than what they should have been. It was like something was missing while reading them when they were not together.
“I look up to say something but he puts his finger to my lips and whispers, “Don’t talk. You’ll just spoil my fantasy of rescuing an innocent damsel in distress as soon as you open your mouth.”
The good things of this book though is that we really do keep moving through the plot and we start to understand the gory horror of what has been really going on and we haven't seen yet from Angelfall. There is a lot of weird stuff going on people, and not just with the angels exactly!
Though this book contained nearly the same plot as Angelfall, Penryn alone and running off into danger to save her younger sister, I am excited to see what will happen in the third book coming out soon I believe, End of Days, since we figured so much out now to move forward and really dig into the action of the plot and not swerve around it. Plus, I am really hoping for a lot of Raffe and Penryn time.
Verdict:
I wanted to love this book as much as I did, Angelfall, but I sadly did not. I still enjoyed this second book in the series though and definitely will be reading the future books to find out what happens next and see were the story is going.

Everything pretty much went downhill . First book wasn’t amazing. This one wasn’t that interesting to me. I won’t be continuing with the trilogy . Even though it’s the last book . I just have so many other ones I want to read that . I don’t know if it’s because it was written in a time where all the tropes were running ramped or maybe it’s just not my cup of tea . The summary seemed interesting , had heard it was underrated and thought I’d give it a try . It didn’t work out. Sorry to anyone who love these books .
Ps: if it wasn’t for me listening to it , I might have not finished it .

The amazingness of Susan Ee. The characters, the jokes, all that awesomeness. It's too good, and I can't wait to start the third book!
