Help, why did I kind of relate to Frollo? Without the stalking girls part of course but still.
I adored watching the stories and connections unfold before my eyes, and that architecture chapter? Genius!
The ending however… damn, that was grim.

the hunchback of notre dame is a book about obsession and infatuation. and what an excellent one it is. the characterization in this was amazing. i loved how each of the characters handled their obsession/infatuation differently and how their background and personality affected that.

The story stops many times to give you Wikipedia like facts about the cathedral, who had it built, the building itself. It felt like a study for architects or something
