The writing is so hauntingly beautiful. It has some racist and homophobic views and those were hard to go through. It made it up with some feminist perspectives that were great, considering the social context.
I loved the uplifting but greatly realistic depiction of recovery and the uncertainty the future holds.

I think you'll only like this book if you've gone through the same things Esther has (and I have, so I love it).

This book is so well written. There were times I actually gasped at the language Plath used. It is amazing!

i really loved it. i could see myself in esther and her mistakes so i felt very maternal over her and may have liked her more than others who find her to be cynical and as asshole

I wanted to read this cos it's a classic about mental illness. I knew when I started this book that it's gonna be racism and whaou 15 times the n word in one chapter. That's sick.
Fatphobia, racism and homophobia she is really detestable.
Without the fact that's the mc is a absolute jerk the book is okay.
I think it was well written, I love the way that depression is written
I really like seeing how Esther talk about the place of women in society.
But sometimes it'd was really boring it could have been so much better if it's was shorter.
I also really hate the ending
Esther is set to a asylum after trying to take her own life she do shock treatment and then everything is over she's fine.
