I re-read this book every two years to see if it has the same effect on me that it did when I first read it at age 17, and each time, I've found that it does.
I think I get it from a different angle each time, and something different stands out to me--this time, it was definitely Esther's internal commentary on the dull horror of childbearing & domesticity, which I found incredibly relatable. 
I wonder what I'll find the next time I read it.
