A pleasant enough light read, but heavy-handed in parts (meditation is good, we get it!), and just so much unexamined privilege throughout.

What an absolute cracker of a novel! Middle aged women are diagnosed with invisibility (literally disappearing bit by bit) and we follow the story of Tilda as she tries to regain her visibility. So many of the themes would resonate with women (and other groups in society) as Tilda unpacks the reasons for this diagnosis and works out a, sometimes funny, sometimes sad, path to recovery on her own terms.

I do find valuable ideas in this book (eg, getting to know PEARL, value of meditation), but it also makes me uneasy. What would Selma say - is sacrifice for others out of love a value that contributes to invisibility?
Perhaps she would not - Tilda's girls made a sacrifice for her, after all. For me, it was a thought- provoking read.  I sometimes laughed out loud - truly funny and relatable at times.
