Spoiler-

Enjoyed the characters. The story resonates as women do become invisible as they age or for various other reasons.  There were a number of comedic moments. Also some serious stories of childhood abuse and DVA and the impact on us later in life. These stories weren’t the highlight of the book though. It was more about the main character embracing life, finding herself and helping others.

Interesting concept.

It leaned too far into being a self-help book for my tastes, making the messages (cure yourself with the power of positive thinking) heavy-handed and the plot basic. It felt like it was pushing very hard for a specific brand of thinking/believing/healing which often deprived the story of the nuance and deeper discussions that the topics it addressed deserve. The ending particularly sat poorly with me due to this approach.
Despite, in premise, being highly character-focused it also felt impersonal somehow. Perhaps the combination of the generic, predictable choices for the plot and characters and the unclear tone that poorly infused serious looks at misogyny, chronic illness, and domestic violence with juvenile humor.

Interesting story concept. The book felt like a fictionalized self-help book, which I found informative to some extent, but I feel like many of the chapters were redundant.
