I like this book I'm not going to say I hate this book but I don't certainly love it.
The plot line is good. The story begins on a good note with happy and fun things. However, I think that the character development of the character of Fallon is not as good as in Ben's case. there are some things that didn't make sense to me. like Ben meeting gallon and how he acted after he met Fallon like after going through things and seeing Fallon, he acted quite strange. though Ben helped gallon gain confidence and pursue what she wants. Many might think he did this because of guilt but never felt that Ben did anything for Fallon out of guilt. I didn't feel like it was a love story based on guilt. though Ben did wrong I guess it was just destiny.
For Fallon, I felt her main role and her thinking from her own brain in the end only. However, I think her character could've been developed more and held more importance in the story.
overall I like the story but I still feel that things could make much more sense and be better. and a CoHo book would never fail to make me cry this one made me cry as well but a little later. For some chapters in the beginning it's a humor and some good scenes.

Maybe my favorite Colleen Hoover book aside from Verity. I laughed, I cried, I almost threw up, but most importantly I read all of it in one day and stayed up until past midnight to finish.

This book is the reason I'm taking a break from Colleen Hoover.

There are so many issues with this novel; I don't even know where to start. Ben is probably the best place to begin because ugh, I HATED that guy. From the creepy way he was staring at Fallon when they first met to the way he made her so uncomfortable with all his intrusive actions to the aggressive and lowkey possessive behavior he exhibited at the end, it's as if Colleen Hoover compiled all the worst traits possible in a human being and VOILA! Ben was born.

I didn't have as much of a problem with Fallon; the only complaint I really have is her obsession with her scars because she did complain a little too much, but overall, I could mostly understand where she was coming from. Other than that, she just let Ben step all over her. Ben did things that would make anyone uncomfortable and Fallon just let him, even when she didn't want it. She let Ben undress her when she was visibly shaking from his actions; she let him touch her when it was clearly an invasion of her boundaries; she didn't push him away when he was being aggressive and grabbing her without consent; most importantly, she FORGAVE him for the stunt he pulled. LIKE HELLO?? He had absolutely ZERO justification for why he did it. It wasn't a lapse in judgment; it should occur to everyone that maybe THE FIRE MIGHT SPREAD??? Ben deserves to rot in his own misery after that, and he definitely doesn't deserve Fallon.

I know I need to move past Ben, so here are a few comments about the plot. It was kind of lackluster, to be honest. I feel like there wasn't that much going on. I feel like CoHo kept trying to justify the insta-love trope with Fallon saying that she doesn't believe in insta-love. The meet-cute was weird, and again, it just goes to show how intrusive Ben is. The Miles/Tate cameo was fine, but it didn't really register that much. I hate the dating-my-dead-brother's-wife trope because it's just so unsettling.

I'm ending the review here, but just know that I'm still very very upset over Ben and probably will be forever. With that, here are my last words: Ben you little shit.
