I love Clare Mackintosh's books, this one is quite different to her others but is probably my favourite! I really liked the characters and could envisage each one and the community of The Shore so well. It kept me guessing the whole way through with plenty of little twists and turns throughout. Slightly missed the 5* for me because there was so many characters it was a little difficult to keep track of who was who at times! Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this and I hear there is a sequel so can't wait for that one!

This is my first by Clare Mackintosh.
I liked that there were so many suspects and I had no idea who was going to be turn out to be the murderer. Though I found it confusing and hard to follow at times. Rating a 4 star because the ending (although I didn’t guess it) wasn’t super shocking to me. I found it a bit lacking after all the buildup. However for the most part it was a really good story, and Mackintosh did a great job at tying up all the loose ends. Already waiting for the next one!

Way too much going on in this book. There were too many characters to try and keep up with. The mystery got bogged down and overshadowed by the amount of police procedural and messed up timelines. I couldn't enjoy it the way I really wanted to. I did like how descriptive the author got with the town and surrounding areas. I love hearing about Wales and the descriptions of the town and the lake. I just wish that all that hadn't been overshadowed by everything else.

Reads like a Lifetime movie. Almost couldn’t put it down.
