People will often question why one decides to read the After series. It is chaotic and unhealthy, but it is not only because of the devastating first book, but because of this one. It is a full story and has one of the best character arcs I’ve ever read before. I sit here listening to Birdy’s “Wings” and unable to know what to do next with my life and so unbelievably in love with this story. In a month I was able to follow Tessa and Hardin through this entire series and it is true testimony of how much their unconventional relationship grabs you. It was a delight to watch them grow up. To give each other the space to do so and to realize that they are what is truly what the other needs; they just needed to breathe for each of them to see it. I rushed through the whole series mostly because I was looking forward to this one. It is because of the beautiful nature of how this ending works. “It is not a story to look up to, but a story to learn from.” Yes After is toxic, but it is also extremely redemptive towards people who have addictions and mental health issues. That everyone deserves to love, be loved, and have a happy life despite all the negative trauma in their past. It is about learning to live within yourself and find yourself. I loved the way Tessa and Hardin grew up throughout the whole last novel. It went from the lowest low and final straw to the most beautifully crafted reconciliation. Every character developed into the most memorable versions of themselves. Like Hardin says in the end… it is a story about forgiveness, unconditional love, and finding yourself buried deeply inside guilt, pain, trauma, and addiction. It is why I can’t fault the novel… especially this last one.

At this point I’m so over this series. It’s so annoying the back and forth. The drama. The breaking up and getting back together and i can’t even finish this massive book and continue on this horrendous relationship.

Edit. I went back and finished this and ended up loving it. I think reading them back to back isn’t the best idea

Ughhhhh I am truly sad the story is over. I loved these characters so much. I don’t like that in this book everything felt so rushed. I could have used a longer book much like the others in the series. It felt so rushed and my heart longed for more of their story. But I am so happy they got their Ever After

I.... i cant

I’m trying to decide if I’m satisfied with the ending. We got so much so quickly and I have some unimportant questions but lingering questions nonetheless. I’m over the moon that we got to see Hardin and Tessa end up where they finally did. This book was the best to me because it really take us from the absolute worse case to the best.

Well I skipped the third book and still didn't miss anything.... the ending felt really rushed after all the buildup

I love this and I hate this. I don't like the amount of the book that Hardin and Tessa spent apart was too much. I understand the need for "time" but I feel I needed more of their happy moments in this book. I also did not like the ending. While I'm happy they got there HEA, I wish it would have come sooner and their final moments were not so choppy and spaced over so many years
