First of all, #Hessa for life!! They are equal parts toxic and swoon worthy for me. I have admittedly not read all of the books, let’s face it they are looooong!! I read book 1 and book 4 and I love #Hessa.
Hardin and Tessa equally drag each other down and build each other up which is surely a run off for a lot of people but not for me. As toxic as they are at times, they understand each other in a way it seems like no one else around them does. When they are communicating, for me it seems like they do it well because they’re honest with each other and trust each others support more than others. If we are all honest, more than most of us had a similar toxic experience.
I like relatable, gritty, angst with a good old redemption arc! While some books make me cringe at the couple being together, I would’ve hated this series if it didn’t end with them together. I know this type of arc isn’t for everybody but I enjoy the honesty in it and I loved the long term wrap up of their life together.

The series is over, and I am lowkey sad because as toxic as Hardin and Tessa are, I love their story. I like how Anna Todd made this specific book about the people around them rather than just focusing on the two of them. I like how the two took time to grow themselves individually and eventually came back together at the end. It is funny because, in real life, some people have relationships and histories like these two.
I like how Tessa got to meet her father, although it is sad that he died it's a real-life situation. It is great how Hardin learned the truth about his father but that did not stop him from finally building his relationship with Ken and Christian. Landon finally found his voice and it did hurt his best friend and "stepbrother," but he needed that growth too.
I loved the ending because shows that through all of this, they found their way back to each other and I loved the recap in the epilogue. I wish there was another book about their post-life, even if they didn't get married. I like how they ended in New York City and Hardin became an author for the "After" series. Tessa grew so much since the first book and found what she loved, planning! Seeing the growth in Tessa's mother and Ken was huge too, I haven't read a fiction book series with so much growth in characters. It makes you think about how this not only happens in the fictional world but in real life too.
Now I got to go watch the entire movie series again!

This was so good.
I felt like Tessa had really matured and so had Hardin.
But I still feel like they're not married but I guess they would be.
I don't know.
Still it was a good ending and very hopeful, genial sorts.
Overall it was a good series, I wish there was a little more than just romance in this book, it would've been perfect :)

Rereading this book (and the rest of the series) as an adult and not a 14 year old girl felt super nostalgic to me. Whilst they aren’t the best written books out there, the story is captivating and I did really enjoy rereading them. The nostalgia factor definitely does elevate the rating from 3 to 4 stars though.
Ok, so I love the After series so much, and even though I hate the gaps in this book, I still love it. After We Fell and After Ever Happy left me in tears multiple times, but it was so worth it. But, please search up triggers before reading the series!!
