I say it every time but I hate that I like these. Tessa and Hardin literally make me shake the book I’m so mad at them. But this last one? There was a lot of person growth, both from the characters and the author as well. Tess admitted that her and Hardin were toxic. Hardin admitted that he’s an ass and his trauma does not excuse his behavior. And then they both grew up. They learned, they got better. It took a loooooong time to get here but thank goodness we did.

“Men are assholes. Every single one of them. But truth be told, women are assholes, too, so the only way for it to work is if you find an asshole you can deal with. One that makes you a little less of an asshole “ -Kim

What a rollercoaster this story was! I was so frustrated with all the repetitive drama throughout this series and what a complete asshole Hardin is and for Tessa taking him back and forgiving him over and over again! But now that it’s come to an end, I understand why she wrote all the details of this story. I understand why it had to be so long, because so many of us in real life do have relationships that is so toxic but because of how much we love someone we continue to forgive and take them back, no matter what’s happened. We are blinded by love. I’ve seen it happen in so many of my friends relationships and have even experienced it myself. It’s hard to break the cycle of a toxic relationship.

I’m happy that in the end Hardin and Tessa were able to come out stronger and better, but that’s not always the case. After listening to all the books, I’ve decided I do love this story! I still wish it was a bit shorter, and for how things were dragged out throughout the whole series with the drama, I was disappointed that this last book was rushed at the end of all the good parts that were happening! Overall it was great. My first 5 starts to this series 😄 I’m excited to now go onto watching all the movies to this series!

ok but why did tessa have to go through so much trauma... what was the point of that. and the ending was mediocre??? four books for that

This is a lot of rambling, I am trying to sort my thoughts. I read this series way back when on the good ole wattpad. My worldview is much different than it was back then lol.

I am so glad it is over. I had to put this book down and stop reading it for over a month because I was just so sick of Hardin and Tessa. I only finished this book because I had to return it to the library and I would have been put on a waitlist to renew it.

I was sick of both of their shit. The first book, I felt for Tessa, now I almost felt guilty for hating her. I really hated how she kept trying to see other men (ex. Robert) knowing she couldn't move on from Hardin. But, I don't fault her 100% for that either. I guess I could never do what Tessa did, where a guy continually fucks up and I just let him run all over me, so that's why I ended up disliking her? I am not entirely sure.

I am very glad she saw Zed for who he was. I am also glad we learned why Zed and Hardin had major beef. Zed bothered me, even from the beginning. Hardin bothered me. Honestly, everyone bothered me. Wait I take that back, Karen and Smith were great. I usually enjoy seeing everyone's flaws and people truly loving everyone despite their flaws, but not this time. All I could say was WHY???????? to Christian, to Kimberly, to Trish, to Hardin, to Tessa, I could keep going but I would just name everyone in the whole series. ALL these people need a lot of therapy.

I enjoyed the part about hearing about Trevor's sex life LMAO

The last bit of the book where it was skipping years ahead was written wonderfully. It hit everything I wanted to know quickly after the extremely long series. I am glad they ended up together at the end. But, was I just not reading carefully enough or did I just google who Landon married for nothing?

This was a roller coaster of emotions. This is not at all criticizing Anna Todd's writing, because she DID amazing on creating such COMPLEX characters with such an amazing slow but chaotic plot. I am mostly critiquing the character's themselves.

I love you Anna Todd. I loved this book series.
