"...and the rock knew pain."
Hell yeah Leylas, go off.

This first issue is more of a quick introduction to the world of Exandria, the Kryn Dynasty and their worship of the Luxon. I see how someone not familiar with Critical Role could find it a bit hard to follow but, regardless, I think anyone could enjoy this story. I mean, it's got fantasy, magic and lesbians. Can't get any better than that.

I've always been intrigued by the Bright Queen and was happy to see some of her backstories expanded on. That said, the plot does move very quickly, as it's technically told from a teacher to a student. This makes for a lot of lore, which many fans will enjoy. Personally, I would have wanted more depth into how the Bright Queen came to rule, but that is my personal preference. The art style is gorgeous and this makes for a great, quick read that fans of Critical Role will enjoy.

3.5 the art was amazing, but the story was almost impossible to follow. Impossible surly if you are not a Critical Role fan. but over all happy the drow of Kryn are getting a bit of a spotlight

This story does a good job expanding on this character from Critical Role and the beliefs of her culture. The art is beautiful.

An intriguing, fascinating, and beautifully-illustrated reading hook for the Bright Queen's history, and hopefully tales of the power of the Luxon. Excited for issue two!
