I read the first book, Pleasure Unbound, about a year ago and I really liked it. It took me a while to get to this book, but once I did, I realized I didn't really remember what happened in the first book. But I soon got back into the swing of things and was able to get into the book.
It certainly is one of my favorite plots in terms of paranormal romance, but I couldn't really get behind Shade and Runa's story. It may have been my whole issue with made-up names, but I just didn't love it. I will finish the series, more because I love the spin-off series, the Riders of the Apocalypse, than anything else.

Wonderful story full of love and adventure. Shade finally gets the love of his life and three little surprises along with it. A must read. It is a great sequel to Pleasure Unbound and it captures and ensnares you right from the very beginning. Ione uses great imagery and character development to make you fall in love with the characters and all their problems and solutions. Now lets just hope Wraith can find his true love before he goes postal and Kynan gets his chance at life and love as well. Can't wait to read the next one.

It's been a while since I read the first book of this series, so it took me a little bit to remember what all had happened and to refresh myself on the characters. Desire Unchained does a good job of expanding on the world created in the first book and making things even more complicated. There is a lot at stake for this characters if they fail in finding a way through all of their issues. Shade is a fun character and I was glad to see him get a happy ending, much like Eidolin did in the first book. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.

I enjoyed it, but I think I like the first book better. It was a good story, but not good enough to rate 5 stars.

I am enjoying this series so much that I haven't taken a break from it since starting them! I was looking forward to seeing how the author was going to work the curse that Shade carries and how she was going to be able to give him happiness in the end. What I wasn't looking forward to though was the torture of having to scramble to find the time to be able to read the book with no interruptions!

When I finally started to read Desire Unchained, I was instantly swept back into the demon world that proved to be full of excitement, sexiness, suspense and drama. Shade was not one of my favorites from the previous book, but he did capture my interest with the curse that he has and how the author was going to develop a book around it. I loved how Shade and Runa were thrown together and tortured into submission and bonding. Roag is truly showing his true side in being the evil brother that you love to hate. He is ruthless and evil to the core with no regard to the consequences.

Runa was the perfect match to the cockiness of Shade. I loved how she didn't put up with his crap and shoved it back at him every chance she got. It showed me that the author truly wanted Shade to meet his match in a mate. Runa also brought out the softer side of Shade and made me realize that he does have feelings that he chooses not to show on the outside.

Again in this book, we are treated to side stories involving Gem and Kynan. While I am truly enjoying their chemistry and build up, I do with the author would have made their connection a separate book so the reader could fully enjoy their characters.

While Shade and Runa were a great couple and this book was much better in the character development, I am still not a huge fan of this one as I was the first one. It could be that I am just not willing to accept Shade as a good guy because of his lack of emotions from the previous book, but it was still one I enjoyed and would read again. I am looking forward to the next book that involves Wraith and the torment he is going to have to suffer to find his happily ever after. I also enjoyed the 'surprise' that is revealed at the end of this book for Shade and Runa! That should be entertaining to read about in the future books!

This is the second book in the Demonica series.

This time it's the story of the second brother the paramedic Shade. When he wakes up chained in a dark dungeoen with his human ex-girlfriend Runa he thinks he is dreaming.. Since she discovered his betrayal almost a year ago and ran away from the scene broken hearted and hurt she encountered a life altering situation which almost kills her. Now almost a year later she comes back to seek revenge only to be caught by a nightmare in disguise.

Now she is mad as hell with him and the situation that she is in because of him, plus this emprisonment!!

When they are forced to life-bond by their crazy captor that is seeking revenge on the most highest level. They are faced with a bond that seals their fates and emotions they can't seem to help avoid, Shade is forced to endure a curse that will fade him away! But will Runa help him or avenge her shattered heart.

This was such a book that was hard to put down.. Shade is so adorable in that hunky hot kind of way..

It was so action filled that it was amazing.. twists and turns when you least expect it.. I loved it.. Every time I think ok it's everything is fine now something turns up that makes me sitting on the edge of my seat!! I would highly recommend this book to any paranormal/romance reader .. it is so passionate that it leaves you smiling..

I'll be picking up the third book soon to see what happens with the third brother Wraith :) God they are so hot!! I just can't wait :)

Quotes I liked from the book..

“There’s so much evil in him, Paleshadow,” she’d told Shade once, using the nickname he’d never hear again.

Wraith snorted. “Cowards. Seriously. Who brings a gun to a knife fight? That’s cheating.”

God, this felt good. He slid Wraith a glance. “This isn’t like, vampire gay, is it?”Wraith snorted and shot him the finger.

“You hated me so much that you wanted to bring down me and the hospital.” The tone of his voice became gentler. “Not that I blame you.”

He might be a demon, but he was also a paramedic, and the desire to save lives was almost as strong as his drive to have sex. With Runa. His mate.Fuck.
Shade?”
“What? I didn’t cuss.” Way to sound guilty, idiot.

“For the love of all that’s unholy, stop it. Stop being so fucking nice. You should hate me.”

You can’t truly hate someone you’ve loved. You can only hurt.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me thrice… I end up dead.

“I will bear this pain for you,” he swore. “If one of us has to bleed, it will be me. It’ll always be me.” There was nothing he wouldn’t do for her, he knew that now.

The angel wheeled away, and when Runa made to give chase, Shade grabbed her by the scruff. “Down, girl. They’re almost impossible to kill. Let him go.”

Wraith jerked Kynan closer, taking long, powerful pulls as though trying to ingest as much nourishment as possible before his meal was taken away.

Wraith sat forward in his chair, propping his forearms on his spread knees. “’Sup, buddy.”Buddy? Kynan blinked again. He wasn’t at UG. He was in the Twilight Zone.
