yikes…. this book is shockingly horrible, like i didn’t think it could get this bad.

it seems like the author was just super horny and spilled all her fucked up fantasies onto the pages of this book. okay the ‘entire family is thirsting after me trope’ MIGHT have been okay except shE FUCKED ALL OF THEM. like… the uncles behaviour while she was underaged was honestly super creepy and the fact he waited until she was 18 didn’t make it any better. also, her calling him uncle jake during sex made my skin crawl. ALSO WHY DID KALEB BECOME THE MAIN LOVE INTEREST??? he acts like a deprived animal the entire book and she likes that? she falls in love with that? i was rooting for noah the entire time (arrogant soft boy with a slightly darker, possessive side) but no, she chose kaleb of all people? like it would have made more sense for her to choose jake and go down the daddy issues path. AND THE LAST CHAPTER INFURIATED ME!!! **5 years later** they’re a happy little family with a son, back at the peak??? please!! there was no need to include that AT ALL.

god i really hated this book, it wasn’t even good smut. why was this so highly recommended??

Book Tok failed me. This was a whole mess from start to finish. The main characters parents killed themselves and she goes to live with her step uncle and his two sons. The rest of the book is their sexual escapades and a million sticky notes where I write “I’m so uncomfortable.” Tiernnan needs serious therapy for her trauma, not to be sexually taken advantage of by a grown man at the age of 17. It romanticized trauma, promoted coercion, and for so many other reasons I really felt like this was just terrible.

Three unfuckably misogynistic male (non blood related, repeatedly emphasized) relatives of our newly orphaned 17 year old protagonist Tiernan de Haas vie for her love and attention. Every love interest is abusive towards her in one way or another that makes this 470 page book difficult to stomach. There is not a moment of peace in this book without the abuse dynamics and misogyny lingering in the background that gets whisked away like nothing in the end.
