My least favourite of this series so far which is a shame because it felt like it could have been much better than it was. Sloane and Jasper feel like they have the potential to be more interesting characters than others in the series but it ended up feeling a flat. Also why no focus on Sloane's career & passion for dance? Especially in the context of gender roles in this story, felt like a miss.

It also just got a bit dull, once they kissed I was like ok...story done. It felt like it needed an edit in places and the spice was overdone in place of actually delving into the character issues or moving the story along. Admittedly this sort of spice is just not for me and the caveman, your are mine, act gives me the ick so maybe thats clouding my judgement. But I truly do not believe
you go from being too chicken to admit your feelings for someone for literal decades to wanking in the shower in front of them after one slightly heated moment...

Another instalment of Chestnut Springs down, and again, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Jasper and Sloane were absolutely made for each other. I love how they interact.. how they support each other without even trying.
When Sloane just talks at Jasper constantly when he's in his head and it pulls him back out again, and when he gives her strength just by being there.. I just love it all.
Another delicious slow burn to add to the others too.
Loving this series. Highly recommend :)

“I’m furious with myself for smiling and spinning every time someone opened that box. I’m angry at myself for not flipping them the finger and refusing to twirl around mindlessly. I’m not angry at anyone else. It’s all directed at myself. And somehow that’s harder to forgive. I think deep down I expected better of myself.”
“I feel like I could crumble under the weight of not wanting to disappoint you. I’m paralyzed by my fear of losing you.”

I really enjoyed this book. I loved learning more about Jasper, because he was one of the characters that intrigued me the most in books 1 and 2, and I’m glad I got to see who he is deep down. Sloane was incredible. I think I related a lot to her, and I loved seeing her step into the woman she is now. The romance was incredible, the way they uplifted each other was just amazing. I can’t wait for the next book !
