This was cute, but it didn’t quite hit me the way I expected it to. Maybe it was just the wrong time. It felt like there wasn’t much happening and the story was very focused on character growth. I thought I’d LOVE Jasper but sadly I didn’t. He was still fine though. I’m glad about the way things happened towards the end. At first I thought Sloane would have to show up at Jasper‘s game but him showing up for her was so much better . Otherwise it would’ve been all about men again (btw f u Sloane‘s dad and ex fiancé!! I don’t think I’ve disliked any men in a romance book this much before (I have but they’re probably still in my top 10)) and that would’ve upset me very much. The proposal at the ending was a bit much for me too but I don’t like that in general. BUT I’m SO EXCITED to read about Winter and Theo in the next book! The crumbs I got in this one were so good!!!

The whole story didn’t seem to gradually build up; the climax seemed to be at the beginning and gradually wind down throughout, in terms of plot line. I didn’t feel like I got to know Sloane as an MC; I didn’t know much about her or her personality. The romance seemed to always be there and was kinda boring, honestly. I almost DNF’d a few times.

Powerless was exactly what i needed at this point of my reading year. Somehow i still have to encounter the first Elsie Silver book i dislike, because this one was not on that list. I've been curious about Jasper since he was first introduced in book 1 of the series and finally we got to spend some time with the broody mystery man. Sloane was a cutie pie, too, but I loved watching her develope some sharper edges throughout their story.
I've gotta say, the romance is good, it really is, but i do keep coming back for the found family aspect. I feel like the ranch would be a home to everyone and it's nice to come back to it through the various characters.
This one i really liked, no complaints, five star romance, a million star found family.

I devoured this in one sitting—I literally couldn’t put it down 😍. At this point, if Elsie writes it, I read it, no questions asked. Jasper… ughhh 😩 the man is everything: tender, loving, attentive, and affectionate. I adored watching his relationship with Sloane bloom and fall into place so beautifully. Their love was so sweet, and the epilogue? It had me tearing up 🥹—Harvey giving Jasper that piece of land and walking Sloane down the aisle was perfection. The found family in this series continues to be one of my favorite parts. I can already tell I’m going to love Winter’s book from the little banter here. And Sterling + Sloane’s dad? Yeah, they can kick rocks 🙄😂.
