I especially loved the way I didn't know how the story would end until the very last sentence!

This book had a great premise going in and seemed right up my alley. It took half the book just to introduce all the characters (which I had a very hard time keeping track of) and get to the meat and bones of the plot. While some characters I liked (Lauren and Evelyn), some I appalled (Felicity and Russell). I just couldn’t catch my breath with this one. It was told from so many POV and was one wacky circumstance after another. Family is clearly at the heart of this story - it was just told in a chaotic way. Thanks to Netgalley and Atria for the ARC.

I liked this way more than I was expecting.  A lovely exploration of womanhood and family and community.  Don't we all wish we could live this artistic, bohemian life at the center of the story?
funny hopeful lighthearted medium-paced

This book was absolutely amazing! I read it in a day because I couldn’t put it down!
Lauren and her family are given the chance to live in Greenwich Village , in a brownstone that has a retro, 70’s style while a family member is out of town. The Brownstone has a dive bar called The Sweet Spot in the basement and it’s a local favorite. Her days are filled with her three children and she’s shocked when her ceramic art is picked up by a famous TV host, successful entrepreneur named Felicity. Plus now Lauren has inadvertently made an enemy of a woman she’s never met.
Melinda’s world is turned upside when her husband of 30years ups and leaves her for a younger woman named Felicity , and to throw salt into the wound Felicity is pregnant. Furious and hurt Melinda is making it her mission to her ex and Felicity and anyone she feels was part of the end of her marriage.
Olivia has finally gotten a promotion at her job at the boutique, that is until an unhinged customer verbally assaults her. Olivia stands up for herself but someone posts a video of the altercation on TikTok but it just shows Olivia saying rude things. So she’s fired.
All three woman find their lives connecting when Melinda’s ex leaves the baby behind to chase after Felicity. Soon they begin to lean on each-other and realize family isn’t only by blood, and the small village will come together and hopefully find happiness they are all looking for! The characters seemed so real and just came off the page! I loved the book so much!

I really enjoyed this novel. It’s very funny and touching.

Lauren and her family get to live a brownstone in Greenwich Village while a family member is away. Lauren’s art is really taking off since a style guru has started promoting her work, so things would seem to be going well, except she inadvertently made an enemy of a woman she’s never met, and this woman is making her already complicated life much more complicated.

Melinda’s husband of thirty years left her for a younger woman, and, even worse, is having a baby with her. Melinda’s mission is to destroy Felicity and her business and everyone she believes led to her life going off the rails.

Olivia’s career was on the rise until an unhinged woman verbally attacks her and Olivia loses her cool—unfortunately as a TikTok enthusiast is taping the exchange—only posting the part where Olivia seems to be saying the customer isn’t good enough to shop here.

All of the characters are well drawn. I loved the comic relief provided by Lauren’s three children. There’s a lot of humor throughout, but the way the kids get stuff adorably wrong is hilarious.

Recommend. NetGalley provided an advance reader copy of this book, which RELEASES JANUARY 31.

This has hit my fav list of 2023 so far…

If I could live in a book it would be this one…

I’ll make a list of what I loved…
Greenwich Village
70s bohemian brownstone
THE CAST OF CHARACTERS
Strong female leads
Families… lost & found
The drama/comedy
Also let’s not forget about “The Sweet Spot”

Amy Poeppel has created such a warm and heartfelt comfort book. It is for sure on my reread list.
