A very good horror/thriller centered around a small town obsessed with football and a missing star quarterback. Fantastic debut novel.

not sure what the fuck I just read but I loved every minute of it also john fram r u ok?

Friday Night Lights meets Stephen King-like horror in this debut novel. Joel Whitley returns to his hometown to rescue his brother after he sends a desperate text. Joel was run out of town after years of homophobic ridicule by the football team and fans. But Dylan never comes home and shortly after is found murdered. Strange things start happening, whispers in the ears, and dreams shared by several townspeople. There is an unknown evil just waiting for its next victim.
The storyline was good, but I thought this book dragged on in the middle a lot longer than it needed to. A lot more curse words and awkward sex scenes than necessary as well.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book was super weird, but in a new and interesting way. I took me a good chunk of the book to get used to the rhythm of having multiple narrators; but once I got past that point, I couldn’t put the book down. This sci-fi/mystery/thriller was one of the most novel books I’ve read to date. It did get a bit confusing at the end, as others have mentioned, but I liked the ending, otherwise. I’ll definitely check out more books by this author!
