Obviously revolutionary…definitely not my normal thing in the medium.

Maybe the magic was in the pacing, or the spacing, between the original issues' releases. I just found the episodes tedious when bundled together. I find Gaiman very hit or miss for me, and The Sandman turned out to be everything I don't enjoy in graphic novels.
