Heb er niet voor niets zo lang over gedaan en de laatste 33 in diagonaal sneltempo om het boek met een grote plof weg te leggen. Bespaar je de moeite: trek de natuur in of kies een ander boek uit

I thought I knew what was going on. I did not. An enjoyable quick read that only dragged a hair toward the end and finally gave me an ending I did not see coming. Because of that though, I’m left questioning if it was really earned. Still reflecting. Supernatural elements were a welcome surprise, but I can see why that would turn some off. Recommend if you’ve got a weekend to spare.

This was hard to put down, and the story had me reeling and unsettled. The end...yep, it's surprising!! There are plenty of clues along the way, but even when you think you know, you probably don't. I spent a ton of time thinking about the book, and even now, I'm reviewing it in my head to figure out what I missed. It's a masterful psychological thriller that switches effectively between different viewpoints.

Holy shit! That plot twist!!! It has left me wanting to read up more on what exactly happened in the book! If you love thrillers, this one is a MUST READ!

one word: mindfuck. this book is wild in its own way but i wouldn’t say it’s super unique, the magicalness threw me off a lot more than i wanted it to but i enjoyed the weird twist at the end

I'm not sure how to rate this - it was a solid 4 for 98% of the book - a well-written thriller with characters I cared about and good pacing and suspense. However, the author made a choice at the end that COULD have worked with the proper preparation but, as rendered, seemed to me tacked on and gratuitous. Maybe I missed something? I don't think so. Anyway ... 3.5? Still worth a read - really well done, mostly.
