3.5 stars* okay. while i loved this book… my review is incredibly bias bc it took me till page 80-something to realize i SAW THIS AS A SHOW ON NETFLIX. and a book like this with that kind of ending…. omg i was so upset i spoiled it for myself, i spent the whole rest of the book with the knowledge of what was to come and it ruined it for me
I really liked how this was written where you get all perspectives early on. It makes you feel like you know what is happening but you definitely don't. Minus one for adding in more of a supernatural aspect that felt very late on in the story.
8/10 : If you’re after a decent thriller, with twists, turns & unexpected endings, then I’d say this is a pretty good contender. Nothing is quite what it seems, but it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what at times. It’s pretty dark, but I raced through this, & think it would be a good holiday read perhaps, if you’re after something easy to read but gritty.
So obviously there is a huge question that the reader asks itself throughout the entire book and just when you think you found the answer BOOOOM, A complete TWIST !!! I honestly would have never guessed that ending and it honestly left me saying "WTF". I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a small section that began to slow down the story, however, the author planted a big mystery/question very early in the book that makes you want to continue to find out the truth. I do recommend to give this book a chance. I still have not yet looked at the Netflix series due to me wanting to finish this book first.
3.5*
I liked it a lot, but the slightly fantastic part confused me a bit. The book deserves four stars, I think, but I can't do it. In the end I felt the need to lie in a pool or take a shower.

I’m giving this four stars as an “overall read”. I enjoyed reading this and found it kept my attention until I realised what the twist was...a tad ridiculous. 4* overall read, 2* twist ending...

I read this book for my book club, and it was a good read. I will say if you watched the movie prior it will somewhat ruin it for you. Had I not seen the movie before, I would have been surprised by the ending. I did enjoy both. I would recommend both as well.
