I got this book for my Boof of The Month subscription. It was my first historical romance. All the historical romances that I’ve read are all slow burns.
What I like about the book was that there wasn’t any fluff that wasn’t important. Everything whether it was the banter, family dynamics, societal reputation, or ethics gave insight into the FL (August) and ML(Evan) and who they were.
The banter and tension between August and Evan was what I looked forward to whenever they were in proximity.
August was such a strong woman. She was truly a beacon for the women in her time period.
Overall the book was enjoyable to read. (PS. There’s a little bit of spice
