Here's the short if it...
Eadlyn is not her mother. And while she does have a few more endearing moments that made me want to like her, I still didn't connect with her like I did America.
My favorite parts of the book were the moments learning what had happened with her parents, and getting to know the selected boys. Especially Kile. Oh, and Erik.

I admit that it was interesting seeing a different view of The Selection world, so here's to hoping I can warm up to Eadlyn in the next book!

DID NOT FINISH: 8%

I appreciate what Cass has decided to do here, but I’ve decided not to finish the series. I don’t find Eadlyn as compelling as I did America.

This was the least exciting of the series. I was really disappointed with Eadlyn as a character, especially in comparison to her parents. I was already invested in the series, so of course I persisted with the series.

I genuinely love Eadlyn even though I still don’t know how to pronounce her name. The book wasn’t a huge page turner or anything but all of the boys are so lovable and I don’t know who I’m rooting for more which is why I can’t wait to read the next one.

Satisfying ending.

Eadlyn is so unlikeable and this book was not very memorable. It added nothing to the Selection universe for me. The only good thing was Henri.

I honestly wasn’t expecting the book to be about America’s daughter before I started the book. It would have been nice to read at least one book or short story about Maxon and America working together on the kingdom. However, I do like that we can see what was going on at least eighteen years later when their oldest children are of age. Seeing the Selection roles reversed is a fun change to the story. Readers have a chance to see how Eadlyn struggles to balance being the first female heir to the throne and realizing that it is ok to be feminine and in love.

WHERE are MY MAXON and AMERICA??
Totally wished it was about them but FINE. Their daughter seems so selfish thought but liked that she knew what she wanted and seemed a good person deep inside. She did present herself as this superior person.
I loved the idea of a male selection, it was cool, and the candidates were funny but I couldn't connect to them that much probably because we don't read what they think and what they do to each other. It was based on how the HEIR wanted to cancel everything. I do believe she was cruel to America sometimes.

The first three are the ones I enjoyed the most. So those are the ones I recommend.
